Prohíbe Alemania cinta sobre canibalismo

Berlín, Alemania (3 marzo 2006).- Una corte prohibió este viernes la proyección de una película inspirada en el caso de un caníbal confeso, menos de una semana antes del estreno previsto en cines alemanes.La corte estatal de Kassel hizo lugar a una denuncia contra la película Rohtenburg, realizada por uno de los protagonistas del caso. El juez consideró que al narrar sucesos de la vida privada de Armin Meiwes, el filme violó su derecho a la intimidad.Rohtenburg, dirigida por Martin Weisz y protagonizada por Thomas Kretschmann en el papel del caníbal Oliver Hartwin, debía estrenarse el 9 de marzo. Los realizadores argumentan que el caso de Meiwes, que ha fascinado y escandalizado a los alemanes, sólo sirvió como inspiración para la película. Pero el abogado de Meiwes, Harald Ermel, la calificó de robo de la vida privada de su cliente. El desacato al fallo de la corte, que es válido en todo el país, puede ser castigado con multa o hasta seis meses de prisión.Meiwes está siendo juzgado en segunda instancia por una corte de Francfort por el asesinato en su casa en la ciudad central de Rotenburg de un conocido que respondió a su pedido, a través de la internet, de un joven que aceptara ser sacrificado y consumido. Ha dicho que no hubiera matado a su víctima si éste no le hubiera dicho que quería morir.Meiwes fue declarado culpable de homicidio no intencional a principios de 2004 y condenado a ocho años y medio de prisión, pero un juez federal anuló el veredicto y ordenó un nuevo juicio después que los fiscales apelaron con la esperanza de que lo condenen por homicidio con alevosía. En enero, un tribunal inferior desestimó el caso de Meiwes contra el filme.Pero los jueces en Keissel discreparon, al sostener que incluso el título de la película, casi idéntico al del pueblo donde residía Meiwes, apunta a él. "Si bien las acciones de Meiwes ha tenido gran repercusión pública, esto no significa que se lo pueda convertir sin su consentimiento en objeto de una película... que sólo sirve para entretener a los espectadores", dijo la corte en un comunicado

SINOPSIS
